Resume

Yong Liu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (graduation expected in the fall of 2007).

Yong's research focus is two-fold. First, he has been developing CMOS ICs in conjunction with microfluidic systems to manipulate individual biological cells using dipole-field interactions and to detect bio-molecular activities monitoring nuclear spin relaxation. Second, he has also designed RF & mixed-signal ICs, especially autonomic PLLs for multi-domain synchronous clocking. he has 11 publications, 2 US patents granted, and 3 provisional patents filed.

In 2001, Yong was with Tsinghua Tongfang Microelectronics Company, Beijing, working on the 2nd-generation Chinese RF ID card. In the summers of 2005 and 2006, he was with the Mixed-signal Communications IC Group at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY.

Yong received the Seagate Scholarship for Extraordinary Freshman and the Motorola Scholarship at Tsinghua University in 1996 and 2001, respectively.
