About Me

I'm an assistant professor at Harvard (School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, with affiliation to both Earth and Planetary Sciences and the Center for Astrophysics). Before this, I completed a DPhil (=PhD) at Oxford University in the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics department. I have also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique in Paris and at the University of Chicago.

I'm a proud native of the Highlands of Scotland, which is still part of the UK at the time of writing. I'm married to Seirian with one child (Macsen, born August 2014) and a cat, Cornelia, otherwise known as The Supreme Leader. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, woodwork, hiking, and learning new languages (I'm currently attempting Welsh).
