Moderately High Speed Cameras Home Page

We are currently testing a new 'moderate speed' camera, the Troubleshooter 1000 from Fastec Imaging. The camera is shared with groups in the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University and is shared with other users form the Chemistry and the Biology Departments.

The T-1000 is monochrome with 640x480 resolution. It captures images at rates between 30 and 1000 frames per second. It contains 1GB of memory, so at full speed it captures 4.4 seconds worth of images. The camera is actually designed as a hand-held device, but it can be mounted on most microscopes and tripods. The main advantage of this slower camera is its cost: it is significantly less expensive than the phantom line of cameras. If the camera becomes popular, funding is available to buy additional cameras.

To prevent overlap with the regular fast camera schedule, the not-so-fast schedule will be set each Monday. If you want to use the cameras or you want to join the not-so-fast camera users email list, go to:

Not-so-fast Mailing List

You must use a valid harvard email account. If you have difficulties with this, make sure that you change "my_email_address@somewhere.com" to YOUR address (the mail server needs to know where to send the messages; it won't magically know that YOU want to be added to the list). After you've successfully added yourself, you'll get a confirmation message.
